Tea Shoppe...

I had a little time for crafting today and thought l would play along with the dynamic duo's challenge, a great new challenge site that l have been meaning to play at for the last few weeks.
Here's the challenge for this week.................
My card evolved from a memory of my Gran and a gorgeous old dresser in her kitchen which housed a lovely blue china breakfast set, which is now sitting pretty in my sideboard...lucky me!
Along the edge of the dresser was a plastic doily runner for decoration and the interior open shelves had a type of floral patterned paper with all the little blue teacups in a row....funny how the mind works!

Anyway, here is my card using the SU set "Tea Shoppe"..........

I also used the new Framelits dies, laying the DSP on only half of the die and used the negative space to re-create the fancy carved top of the dresser and repeatedly stamped the pretty flower image in the background to replicate the paper inside the dresser.
I'm glad l had time to play along when there is such pretty colour to work with, although l must admit l don't reach for blues as my first choice generally, but l love these two together and l am pretty happy with the end result!

Vintage Vogue....

Yep, another post in less than 24hrs..:0) This little card was inspired by a lovely Doona set l came across recently, Yellow, Grey & White Floral, it was one of those inspirational flashes that just said "HELLO" l would make a great card!
Here's my recreation in paper form.....

My colours are Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight & Always Artichoke, teamed with Vintage Vogue, Petite Pairs & the Four Frames set.

Flower Fancy Fun...

It's been awhile since l have blogged anything other than my Just Add Ink posts, so l thought it was time to share a couple of cards l have made recently using my Flower Fancy set.

The first card is using Pool Party & Island Indigo with Pear&Olive for the leaves and the second card is Real Red & Cherry Cobbler for the flowers with Lucky Limeade & Olive for the leaves, the sentiment is from the Curly Cute set, stamped on vellum.
I love the effect that this set gives and it's great for creating your own DSP backgrounds.

Just Add Ink #119....

Good Morning, this week over at JAI we have a great Sketch challenge for you.........
I decided this sketch was perfect for a guy card, something l only make on rare occasions, but l really need to make more of! Here's what l came up with, using River Rock & Basic Black cardstocks & DSP's and Need for Speed & Extreme Elements for my images, l also added a little Crystal Effects to the Wheel Rims & mud splotches just to give it a little something extra.

The DT have some great sketch interpretations for you over at JAI, hopefully they will inspire you to head into your craft space and play along.

Just Add Ink #118.....

Good Morning from a very chilly Melbourne, time again for another Just Add Ink case a DT challenge and this week we are casing the lovely Mae Collins.
Scrolling through Mae's blog l had all kinds of dilemma's, there were so many beautiful cards and techniques, that narrowing it down to just one took me awhile.
I finally settled on this very "SWEET" card to case, mainly because l had not yet used my sweet treat cups purchased oh so long ago!
I really wanted to incorporate the new Twitterpated DSP and gorgeous Ridinghood Red pleated satin ribbon with the sweet treat cups, so the end result was a rather pink & girly interactive card.

I just had to add some Crystal effects to those gumballs from the "Something Sweet" set to make them nice and glossy!
The DT have done a beautiful job of casing Mae's gorgeous creations, head over to JAI and Mae's Cachet and be inspired, there is so much inspiration on both!

Just Add Ink #117.........

Howdy.....this week we have a very cheery & fun colour challenge for you over at Just Add Ink, perfect for adding a little sunshine to your day.
On seeing these colours the first thing that popped into my head was a huge happy flower would work well. As you can see l kept my card very CAS for this challenge and other than the teeny tiny greeting there was no stamping, l'm thinking this would have to be the least ink on one of my cards ever!

The DT girls have created some gorgeous cards to Inspire you, go check them out if you haven't already, it's amazing how different our interpretations of these happy colours are and l love cruising the gallery each week and seeing what you come up with.

Just Add Ink #116.............

Morning......Our challenge at Just Add Ink this week is to "Just Add Mother" or make a card for that special women in your life......
Although l don't usually make mothers day cards, as l lost my Mum at the ripe old age of 21 and still miss her everyday, l did add a mothers day sentiment to this weeks entry, but have since removed it and left it blank to use for a different purpose....:0)

The colours l used in this card are Perfect Plum, Sahara Sand, Pear & Olive on Very Vanilla Cardstock.
The DT have created some gorgeous inspiration to get you started, pop over to JAI and be inspired and play along, we would love to see what you create for your special person.
