Just Add Ink #321...Paper Piecing!

Hey there! We have a fun new challenge happening over at Just Add Ink. This week Patrice would like us to use "Paper Piecing" on our projects.
I haven't done this in ages. I've gone very simple and used dsp strips to create the cake layers from "Build a Birthday" and have created a masculine-ish birthday card. Although it would work perfectly fine for both genders.

The rest of the design team have created some fabulous projects using this technique, so don't forget to stop by and check them out and play along if you can.

Now l'm off to sit on the heater and thaw out. It's on bake mode so it shouldn't take long..:0) Roll on summer!

Just Add Ink #320....Sketch!

Happy Friday! It's time to share a brand new challenge over at Just Add Ink.  Tina has given us a great sketch to play with and l had heaps of fun collage stamping and creating my sample.
I decided to flip it from vertical to horizontal and opted for a cluster of small circles instead of one large.
I've heard of pink elephants, but no so sure on pink dinosaurs..:0) But when you are creating for a pink loving fan, that is obsessed with the "Good Dinosaur" movie, l think it works.

The design team have created some lovely projects, so don't forget to stop by the challenge blog for those.

Just Add Ink #319...Inspiration!

Hey there! It's  new challenge time at Just Add Ink and this week we have some "Christmas Inspiration" from Di.
Yep, it's Christmas in July...:0) A scary thought really! Do you know it's only 171 days until Christmas...Now l'm sure that just brought forth a few groans.

I have to say, l'm in denial and therefore refuse to participate in the Christmas spirit...Not only that, l needed a baby boy card and l think l met the brief, both with need and challenge.

I finally got to have a play with some of the products from the super cute "A Little Foxy" suite in the new annual catalogue from Stampin Up!

Just Add Ink #318...Just add "S"

Hey blog friends, it's Just Add Ink challenge time and this week Tina has challenged us to "Just Add "S". This means we were free to add any or as many "S" elements to our projects as we liked.

For my "S" elements, l have added...Spots-Stars-Stripes-Staple and a Stegosaurus complete with Skeleton! Pretty sure l have met the brief on this one..:0)

I've been on a mission of late to down size my not so little dsp stack. Anyone else hoard this stuff too?
While l was sorting through it all, the man(DH) walked past, shook his head and commented that l'm probably only one sheet short of featuring on an episode of hoarders...lol
So the dsp on this project is well and truly retired, but pretty cute and only about five more sheets to go from this pack..:0)

The design team have some awesome "S" projects to inspire, don't forget to check them out.

Just Add Ink #317....Colour!

It's Friday..Yay! That means another week has come and gone and we are that much closer to spring...:0) It also means it's time for another challenge over at Just Add Ink
Kim has given us a gorgeous colour combo for this week and looking at the design teams projects, it's safe to say it was popular and so pretty.
Don't forget to pop by the challenge blog and check them out..:0)

I decided to mix my florals this week and using two new sets from SU, Bunch of Blossoms & Penned & Painted, this was what l came up with.
I stamped a variety of images from both using Archival Black ink on watercolour paper and watercoloured them using the challenge colours and my aqua pen.
Once dry, l flicked a generous amount of Wink of Stella Gold (not that you can see it), added some random black dots to create stamens on the two center flowers, stamped my greeting and finished off with some gold twine, glimmer and some dazzling gold details to add that extra little wow.

Stamp Review Crew....."Flower Shop" Edition!

 Stamp Review Crew

Welcome to another fun blog hop at Stamp Review Crew For this hop we are showcasing the "Flower Shop" set.
If you are following the hop you would have just arrived from the fab creation from Dawn Tidd If not and you would like follow from the start, just click on the banner up top and it will direct you to the SRC blog page.

I have created a cute little gift set using two of the "Flower Shop" images both embossed in the yummy new "Copper" embossing powder from Stampin Up!
I couldn't resist having a play with another new toy "The Popcorn Box" It's sooo...Cute! My colour palette is Kraft-Mint Macaron-White and of course Copper.

I have to apologise for the poor photo quality, it's so dull and dreary here in Melbourne this week, which of course makes it difficult to get natural light pics that aren't on the dull side, that and the fact that the Copper is really hard to capture just how pretty it is.
The lovely Copper twine is stunning! I am a self confessed "All things Copper" addict so both of these were top of my list of accessories.
Not sure you can see it, but the flower centers received a very liberal dose of  clear Wink of Stella and it has taken on a lovely copper tone.

Now you are off to be inspired by the lovely project from Betty Traciak

Just Add Ink #316....Stripes!

Hey lovelies, it's time for another challenge over at Just Add Ink   This week Patrice has challenged us to "Just Add Stripes" to our projects...Lots of fun and simple to achieve!
To create my stripey background l inked up the lovely Brushstrokes background stamp with some yummy new Dapper Denim.
The rest of my colour palette is Kraft, Cucumber Crisp and another new In colour Emerald Envy. I am loving these colours together...Gone are the days of "Blue & Green should never be seen".
To create my sentiment, l wanted something that would work well with the existing one on this cute little Toad from the You're Sublime set. So l used the very unloved Rotary Alphabet Stamp to create the banner and the "is" came from part of a sentiment in the World of Dreams set (retired).
I forgot how much fun it is to create mix and match sentiments this way..:0)

The rest of the design team have created some fabulous stripey creations, so don't forget to pop over and check them out.

Just Add Ink #315...Sketch!

Happy Friday friends!...Over at Just Add Ink this week, we have a lovely sketch from Tina.

I had loads of fun with this one and it was perfect timing for the arrival of my BBB (Big Brown Box) from Stampin Up.
I have taken a few liberties with the sketch by rotating it to vertical and instead of using panels as in the sketch, l cracked open the new "Jar Of Love & Bunch of Blossoms" bundles...Love!
Don't you love it when your order arrives and you're in love with all of your choices.
The colours l used are Sweet Sugarplum, Pear Pizzazz and Crumbcake.

The design team have created some gorgeous samples, so don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.
